November 11, 2017: Tranfer to Meltham

 Family and friends!
How are you! Hope all is well back at home! I apologize for not writing for a while things have been quite busy! You all are always in my prayers! However I don't have much time today, so I apologize for haste in this letter!
Things have been quite crazy to be honest and at times quite overwhelming! We actually just got transfer calls and I am in a village called Meltham now! This is my first time serving in a village it's quite a cool environment to be in! It feels like I've gone back in time 200 years! The ward I'm in is amazing! One of the biggest wards in the mission! They also like to say they are the "best" ward in the mission! I guess we will have to see about that! My companion is elder Hoather he's a good bloke! He is from Canada and has been out for 3 months longer then me! We have found some good people! Overall, I am exited to be here in Meltham! Like I said though things are crazy right now! I read a conference talk earlier this week that brought me a lot of comfort and strength! It was from Elder Neil L Anderson talking about his mission, "Nearly 40 years ago as I contemplated the challenge of a mission, I felt very inadequate and unprepared. I remember praying, “Heavenly Father, how can I serve a mission when I know so little?” I believed in the Church, but I felt my spiritual knowledge was very limited. As I prayed, the feeling came: “You don’t know everything, but you know enough!” That reassurance gave me the courage to take the next step into the mission field."
It helped me too realize that despite my imperfections and weaknesses I can trust the Lord has prepared me enough too handle the challenges that I face in my life! I am thankful for the Lord and the strength I receive from him! I know his Grace is sufficient for us all! I find comfort in The Lord’s words to the Prophet Joseph Smith! I know it is the very same promise He makes to us in our feelings of inadequacy: “Hold on … , fear not … , for God shall be with you forever and ever.”

Love you all, Elder Tuita

October 16, 2017: Elder Ballard

September 4, 2017: One year

 Family and friends!
Hope this week was a great one for you guys back at home! We had a
pretty normal week this week. Huddersfield is a pretty cool place to
serve! There is a huge university next to us so we are able to talk to
a lot of cool kids our age! The younger generation seems to be more
open to the message we share! We met a few cool new people that we are
begging to teach!
We also got some crazy new this week about 2 huge changes in our
mission! First off we are allowed to go to the temple now! This made
me so happy when I heard about it! I have missed the blessings and the
spirit there for a while! I am especially exited because one of our
recent converts in Grimsby is getting sealed here in a couple months
and now I will be able to go! Second, and this is really
crazy... we are now one of the missions approved to use Facebook! So
starting on Tuesday we will be getting Facebook! Now with this being
said I don t think I will use it that much considering that I never
used it at home but the cool thing about it is we are going to be able
to video chat and teach people over that! I don't know the gist of it
but we will find out more on Tuesday! What I do assume though is that
we are now allowed to teach people outside our mission boundaries
using the video chat! Which is crazy!
Well family, time goes by too quick! It's weird to say but in 3 days I
will have hit a year of being out in the mission field! It honestly
has gone by so fast! I am grateful for the time that I have had to
serve the Lord! England has become so much of a holy land to me!
Everyday this feeling of gratitude fills my heart as I walk this land
and have the opportunity to bring people to the Rembrance of there
God! Everyday, The spirit confirms in my heart  how much this is his
work! I see his hand in it every day! Quite recently I read a passage
of scripture that touched my heart quite dearly! It will be my
testimony for you today!
Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of
all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness,
and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace
sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and
if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny
the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and
deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of
God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the
covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become
holy, without spot.
34 And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon

Love elder Tuita

August 28, 2017: Sharon

Hey family,
Hope all is well back at home! It's been a crazy week this week here
in Huddersfield! There was a lot going on! My companion Elder Viani is
a good guy, he's quite funny! His English is not the best so he asks me
how to say a word in English like every 30 seconds! He honestly though
is a really good guy outgoing about everything!  I don't know if it is
just the Italian culture but he is passionate about everything he
does! Like when he makes food he's dancing and singing at the top of
his lungs and he gets really into putting the
ingredients, he is really precise about it! He makes the best pasta
as well!  One night, this was funny, I had just got done following up
with the teams and I turned the corner and he was turned around facing
the mirror with his backside towards it! I was a little thrown off but
I went back around the corner so he didn't see me and just kind of
peaked my head around, he was flexing his butt off and on in front of
the mirror! He was like alternating cheeks and making noises! Honestly was
one of the funniest things ! I just started bursting out laughing! He's
like, "what you not like Elder Tuita?" In his thick Italian accent it honestly
was so funny I wish I would of gotten it on video! He's a good guy!

Besides Elder Viani this week was super stressful! When I gotten into
the area one of the three companionships that left had someone getting
baptized this week! So she was left to us! The day I got there I got a
call from the bishop saying how this girl shouldn't be baptized its too
early, she's not ready! I had not met Sharon yet, I guess the bishop had
just found out that week and so he basically told me we would be
pushing her baptism back! I explained to him my previous experiences
of pushing baptisms back and usually how if we push dates back when
they are ready the adversary is just too strong he'll swoop in and ruin
everything! In my first area in Grimsby, there were two baptism that did not go through
because the Bishop felt it was too quick and we had to pushed them back. Something
ended up happening to them both and we lost them.  It was tough because
I new they were both ready they wanted to change their lives so
badly! But without out entering into covenant that gave them access
to Christ and his atonement, the adversary was just too strong for them
and within that extra week Satan got a hold of them!  I
explained to him if she is not ready we will have to push it
back 3 weeks, because after this week she was going on vacation for 2!
So it was either she be baptized in 4 days or she would have to wait
another three weeks! After hearing everything from Bishop he explained
she had only been taught two discussions. The missionaries never taught her in
her home it was just on the patio, and on top of that there was never a member
present!  I begin to have my own doubts, but when I was able to meet her the
lesson was amazing and we had a member there
as well. The spirit was so strong! It was way evident that she was
ready and that this is what she wanted! She had stopped smoking cold turkey
she had felt the spirit, she was very converted! She was so exited for
her baptism on Saturday, leaving me feeling very stressed not knowing how to
convince this bishop that she was ready! It was so clear that she was ready,
and an over whelming feeling came to me that her baptism needed to be on
Saturday! Despite of this spiritual experience I remember being on my
knees with so much fear coming to me! All of these thoughts started
coming to me so I prayed again and still felt very strongly to do
whatever was possible to make the baptism happen on Saturday! I remember
sitting there feeling very alone and feeling very overwhelmed but I
knew what was right and what the Lord needed me to do!  I called
Bishop and he was not happy, he basically told me we weren't having  a
baptism and that we Elder were pushing this baptism! He was very upset
but I tried explaining to him as best I could that she was ready, and we can't stop her
from wanting this! An hour later president called and I explained to him the
situation! Things were not looking good, the ward was not happy I was
new and I just felt like everyone hated me! On top of that Sharon had
just gone missing we could not get a hold of her! I remember coming
home and praying that night asking Heavenly Father for help! I
remember feeling so lonely but while I was there praying it was almost
as if he was there comforting me himself! I
was reminded of what the savior went through and the lonely path he
made back to his Father in Heaven! I went to bed that night with piece
in my heart! That morning Sharon called us and told us she had just
been in the hospital for an emergency but was good to go! I called
Bishop again and begged him to let it happen! After a lot of talking we
finally came to an  agreement to have the baptism on Sunday after
church! Sunday came around and Sharon had a dream the night of of her
father telling her she was making the right choice! She was crying all
the way through her baptism! When she received the Holy Ghost one of
the members gave her this blessing it was one of the most beautiful blessing I
had ever heard! She was emotional all the way through! It was amazing!
I remember sitting there during the baptism with so much gratitude in
my heart! Afterwards, Bishop came up to me and and shook my hand
and said good job elder! You could tell he knew it was the right
choice! I think I realized and what the Lord wanted me to learn from
this is how the Lord is always with us when we are doing his will!  I
am gratetful for his spirit!
Hope you have a great week!

August 21, 2017: Transfer to Huddersfield

Hey family and friends
Hope this week was a good one as always! We had a good week here in
Bradford but I am sad to say it will be my last! I am going to
Huddersfield! I am a little sad! First off I am sad to leave Elder
Stanley! I have had so much fun serving with him it will be sad to
leave him!  Secondly, I am just going to miss the people here! The
culture everything! It feels like I am leaving family! The sad thing
is though I never know if I will see them again! I am so greatful  for
the time I have spent here!  I think the thing I will miss the most
about Bradford though is the food! They make the best curry here! It
is something I will defiantly miss! Bradford will carry a special
place in my heart always!

My new companions name is elder Viani! He is Italian! His English is
not the best, so we will be able to take language study so maybe I will
learn some Italian! He's got some killer dance moves this kid! He is
just the funniest guy you would ever meet! I do not know too much about
Huddersfield but I am sure it will be great! The ward I will be
serving in is Huddersfield II! Our flat is right outside a major
university which makes me exited! I haven't had the opportunity to
teach kids around my age yet!( except for Ben who just got engaged
last week they set a date for their sealing, I hope President lets me
go!  It makes me exited because there a lot more receptive to the
gospel! Overall I'm exited for the move and look forward to serving
the people of Huddersfield!

Love Elder Tuita

August 18, 2017: Opposition this week

Family and friends
Wow what a crazy week this was! First off I think the winter is
finally starting to come back we were absolutely poured on this week!
The problem with English rain is it doesn't come down in drops its
more like a mist it's the craziest thing! It's like those AZ misters we have
at home to keep you cool in the heat if you stand under one of them you will get
a small glimpse of what English rain feels like it's nutz we are
soaked all the time! Haha.  We had a miracle this week but of course
before any miracle we had a huge trial of faith.... like wow! We had some
crazy opposition this week! I have been in Bradford for a couple
months now and I can count on my hands the times someone came up to us
and started yelling at us how the quran is the word of God, but this
week alone  it seemed like every minute of the day some guy just
stopped us and starting just yelling at us! We had a moment this week
when we were walking through city center, some bloke just stopped us on
the street and just started going off! Then another then another
until there were like 8 people around us just yelling at us! The
problem is they do not just let you go to they just follow you! I kid
you not, there were crowds of people just watching us! People had there
phones out and everything it was nutz! There were lots of people that
come up to us afterwards and apologized and asked us questions!

We did a ton of finding this week in the rain! I remember one day
specifically knocking and street contacting for 6 hours! It was hard
to keep conversations with people and we did not find a lot of success
very little to none! But we continued on all day! Sunday comes around
and there is just this random girl named Allyzza that showed up to
church! She is a Phillipino girl that moved here 13 years ago who is
about 22 years old. All we did was give her a card she went to the
website found the address to the church and came on Sunday! She loved
it! She is already 6 chapters into the Book of Mormon! It was a crazy
miracle! It goes to show that no effort is wasted even if at first it
seems we did it al for nothing the Lord always expounds are efforts!

Love you guys hope you have a great week!

August 8, 2017: Prompting

Hiya yo alright,
We had a good week this week. I think the highlight of it though was Elder Ballard for sure! It was amazing to be in his presence and to be uplifted and edified by an apostle of the Lord! It was an amazing experience and one that I will remember for the remainder of my life!

I had a very cool experience this week in church we were in gospel principles class and I was teaching the class like I usually do. I was reading the book out loud to the class when I felt a very strong impression of words words to look up! When I followed the prompting I noticed a lady walking her dog on church grounds while church was in session! Then in the same prompting I heard to go talk to her! I was like are you serious?... I'm teaching a lesson right now?!  But I
knew it is what the Lord wanted me to do in that very second, so I apologized to the class for the inconvenience took Elder Stanley and walked outside. We walked outside and found her walking
out of church grounds, so we caught her attention and started to talk to her!  It turned out she grew up here when she was younger and the church use to be  grounds that her and her friends would hang out on. It brought back a lot of memories! She continued to say how she felt peaceful while she was on
the grounds and was going to come in and ask questions, but was too scared to! We talked to her and it went great.  We taught her the restoration and we are seeing her Tuesday! It was a testimony to me that God loves his children so much and he does know what we're going
through!

I love you guys and hope you have a great week!
